Biography:
Terry Tamminen, a United States Coast Guard-licensed ship captain, has a diverse background and extensive experience in environmental advocacy and sustainability. Starting in the 1960s with a family-run tropical fish breeding business in Australia, he progressed to studying various marine and environmental issues. He managed a sheep ranch, engaged in real estate and recreational services businesses, and aided Nigeria in creating a waste recycling program.
Terry co-founded and directed environmental organizations like Santa Monica BayKeeper and co-authored influential sustainability policies while serving in the California government. In 2007, he founded Seventh Generation Advisors to promote clean energy policies across states and nations. He has held significant positions and received numerous accolades for his environmental efforts, and is also an accomplished author and pilot.
