Biography:
Before Steve Valk joined the Citizens’ Climate Education (CCE) staff in 2009, his career included 30 years with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and serving as media consultant for the citizen driven, anti-global poverty organization RESULTS.
At CCE, he supports several areas of the organization’s national communications efforts: advancing CCE’s messages in the national media, supporting volunteers in their own local media efforts, and keeping volunteers informed and inspired through blogs and social media.
Steve’s letters and opinion pieces have been published in newspapers throughout the U.S., including the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The New York Times, USA Today, the San Diego Union-Tribune, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Steve holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. A long-time resident of Atlanta, he can be heard on Sunday mornings at the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, where he sings baritone in the choir.
