Alfred Fraijo Jr. is the Founder and Partner of The SOMOS Group and one of California’s leading authorities on real estate, land use, and environmental law. Throughout his career, he has advised public, private, and nonprofit developers on complex projects involving affordable housing, healthcare and educational campuses, mixed-use developments, and public financing initiatives.
Previously a partner at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, Alfred was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of California’s Top 100 Lawyers and has consistently been named a Super Lawyer in Real Estate. He is widely regarded for his expertise in land use policy, environmental law, environmental justice, and equitable development.
A dedicated civic leader, Alfred has founded and led several organizations focused on advancing social justice, affordable housing, and sustainable urban development. He is the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Inclusive Action for the City, co-founder and president of Friends of the Hollywood Freeway Central Park, and serves on the board of the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
