Bob Deans is an award-winning journalist, author, and former White House correspondent with a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in news reporting. He began his journalism journey as a newspaper carrier for his hometown paper, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and went on to become a respected reporter for The Post and Courier and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Throughout his career, Bob covered some of the most significant political and international events of his time, including eight years reporting on the White House and four years serving as Chief Asia Correspondent based in Tokyo. His leadership in journalism was recognized through his election as President of the White House Correspondents’ Association.

In addition to his reporting career, Bob is the author of the nonfiction book The River Where America Began: A Journey Along the James and the novel The Bicycle Man. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to storytelling, history, and public affairs.
