Bob Wieckowski

Biography:

Senator Bob Wieckowski is a California legislator, attorney, and public policy leader known for his work on climate action, consumer protection, housing, and environmental policy. Representing California’s 10th Senate District, he has been a leading advocate for investments in climate resilience, clean energy, wildfire prevention, sustainable agriculture, and zero-emission transportation.

As Chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Subcommittee on Resources, Environmental Protection, and Energy, Bob helped secure significant state funding for climate adaptation and environmental initiatives. Throughout his legislative career, he has championed policies that support consumers, low-income families, affordable housing, and access to justice. His efforts have earned numerous honors, including the Consumer Attorneys of California’s Champion of Justice Award, the California Judges Association’s Scales of Justice Award, and multiple Legislator of the Year recognitions.

Before serving in the State Senate, Bob held local leadership positions, including Vice Mayor of Fremont, and served on numerous community boards and commissions. A practicing bankruptcy attorney, he has spent decades helping families and seniors navigate financial hardship and protect their homes and livelihoods. He holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
