Chris Cannon

Biography:

Christopher Cannon is the Chief Sustainability Officer and Director of Environmental Management for the Port of Los Angeles, where he leads efforts to balance economic growth with environmental stewardship at the nation’s busiest container port. Since joining the Port in 2010, he has overseen environmental programs focused on air quality, water resources, wildlife management, environmental impact assessments, site remediation, and sustainability policy.

Prior to his leadership role at the Port, Christopher worked as an environmental consultant and played a key role in developing landmark initiatives, including the Port’s Clean Air Action Plan and the highly successful Clean Truck Program. With nearly three decades of experience in environmental management, policy, and regulatory compliance, he has helped shape innovative strategies that reduce pollution while supporting global commerce.

Earlier in his career, Christopher served as a legislative assistant for environmental policy in Washington, D.C. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government from Dartmouth College and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Through his work, he continues to advance sustainable solutions for one of the world’s most important transportation and trade hubs.
