Dr. Diana Hendel is an executive coach, leadership consultant, healthcare executive, and author who specializes in helping leaders navigate crisis, trauma, and organizational transformation. A former hospital CEO, she is recognized for her expertise in resilient leadership, healthcare innovation, and guiding organizations through periods of significant disruption.

As CEO of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Dr. Hendel led one of the largest acute care, trauma, and teaching hospital systems on the West Coast. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions with numerous healthcare, business, and community organizations, including the California Children’s Hospital Association, the Hospital Association of Southern California, the Southern California Leadership Council, and the Greater Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Hendel is the author of Responsible: A Memoir, which chronicles her experience leading through the aftermath of a workplace tragedy. She also co-authored Why Cope When You Can Heal? and Trauma to Triumph, books focused on resilience, recovery, and leadership during challenging times. A sought-after speaker, she has presented at national conferences and TEDx events on healthcare, leadership, and personal transformation.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
