Rick Gates is a former political consultant, strategist, and public policy professional who worked on major national political campaigns and government affairs initiatives. A graduate of the College of William & Mary and holder of a Master of Public Policy degree from George Washington University, he built a career in political consulting, campaign operations, and international public affairs.
Gates served in senior leadership roles during the 2016 presidential campaign, overseeing day-to-day campaign operations and later serving as Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Inaugural Committee. Throughout his career, he worked on domestic and international political consulting projects, advising political leaders and organizations on strategy, communications, and public policy.
Following his involvement in the Special Counsel investigation into Russian election interference, Gates cooperated extensively with federal investigators and testified in several high-profile legal proceedings. Since then, he has written the memoir Wicked Game: An Insider’s Story on How Trump Won, Mueller Failed, and America Lost and founded the political consulting firm Tungsten LLC.
